| 4 | `Proxmox Backup`_ is based on the famous Debian_ Linux | |
| 5 | distribution. That means that you have access to the whole world of | |
| 6 | Debian packages, and the base system is well documented. The `Debian | |
| 7 | Administrator's Handbook`_ is available online, and provides a | |
| 8 | comprehensive introduction to the Debian operating system. | |
| 9 | ||
| 10 | A standard `Proxmox Backup`_ installation uses the default | |
| 11 | repositories from Debian, so you get bug fixes and security updates | |
| 12 | through that channel. In addition, we provide our own package | |
| 13 | repository to roll out all Proxmox related packages. This includes | |
| 14 | updates to some Debian packages when necessary. | |
| 15 | ||
| 16 | We also deliver a specially optimized Linux kernel, where we enable | |
| 17 | all required virtualization and container features. That kernel | |
| 18 | includes drivers for ZFS_, and several hardware drivers. For example, | |
| 19 | we ship Intel network card drivers to support their newest hardware. | |

| 22 | either explain things which are different on `Proxmox Backup`_, or | |
| 23 | tasks which are commonly used on `Proxmox Backup`_. For other topics, | |
