23 system service that may be used to synchronize the
24 local system clock with a remote Network Time Protocol
25 server. It also saves the local time to disk every
26 time the clock has been synchronized and uses this to
27 possibly advance the system realtime clock on
28 subsequent reboots to ensure it
29 monotonically advances even if the system lacks a
30 battery-buffered RTC chip.</p><p>The NTP servers contacted are determined from
31 the global settings in
32 <a href="timesyncd.conf.html"><span class="citerefentry"><span class="refentrytitle">timesyncd.conf</span>(5)</span></a>,
33 the per-link static settings in
34 <code class="filename">.network</code> files, and the per-link
35 dynamic settings received over DHCP. See
