1Quick Start Guide

4Experienced users can use this guide for a quick installation. For
5detailed instructions please read the whole documentation.

8. Download ISO from Download http://www.proxmox.com

10NOTE: There is one ISO image for download covering all versions and

13. Burn the downloaded ISO image to a CD or create a
14xref:create_bootable_usb[bootable USB stick].

16. Boot from this CD/USB stick on your dedicated hardware - see xref:system_requirements[System requirements].

20. Follow the instructions on the graphical screen.

24. After reboot, go to your desktop PC and point your browser to the
25given IP address.

27. Login and upload subscription key.

29. Check the IP configuration and hostname.

31. Check and save the Time Zone.

35. Configure {pmg} to forward the incoming SMTP traffic to your Mail
36server ('Configuration/Mail Proxy/Default Relay') - 'Default
37Relay' is your e-mail server.

39. Configure your e-mail server to send all outgoing messages through
40your {pmg} ('Smart Host', port 26 by default) - see
41xref:fitering_outgoing_mail[Filtering outgoing e-mails].

45If the installation succeeds you have to route all your incoming and
46outgoing e-mail traffic to the Mail Gateway. For incoming traffic you
47have to configure your firewall and/or DNS settings. For outgoing
48traffic you need to change the existing e-mail server configuration.
